Santa Cruz County Region Overview
Santa Cruz County is located South of San Francisco and San Jose on the Pacific Coast. Known as the playground of the Bay Area, Santa Cruz County is home to 14 State Parks and 30 State beaches. The Northern part of the County is a coastal Redwood forest with individual trees reaching over 300 feet. The Southern part of the County is an agricultural area that extends down through Monterey and San Benito Counties, called the Salinas Valley. Otherwise known as the "Salad Bowl of the World", this region produced more than 70% of the lettuce in the US is grown in this area.
